Dear god, I was waiting for more First Base for so long, and somehow this slipped under my radar. I will never be so lax again. Slow-cook down a band like the Beach Boys down into a reduction, then pour it over a finely cooked steak of Self Awareness, and you may yet dream of approaching their splendor. enmeduranki

I actually don't remember how R.B.C.F. came into my life, but this was my first CD of the band. And no other does "the ancient art of weaving" guitars, as Keith Richards calls it, better than them. Apart from some critics' reviews I regard Sideways To Italy as their ultimate peak so far. An entire album of beautiful songs that never fail to deliver, same as this EP's title track and all the other ones. One of my favourite bands by now!!! Markus Bader
Australian shambolic pop that uses the generic trope of deadpan ennui to evoke bleak dystopia rather than the usual sunny slacker world. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jul 6, 2016
Berkely duo Axe serve up four catchy, heavy synth-punk rippers inspired by campy horror flicks and old-school heavy metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 28, 2021

They've really fallen into their own on this album - every song is catchier than the last. The Only One > Cars In Space > Cameo run can't be beaten. Summer grooves that'll keep you jamming through this madcap year. Connor B.
